It seems like we do so much on it now that we would really struggle to live without it and this is certainly true to an extent as things such as banking, shopping and interacting with people have all changed so much over the past decade or so and all these 3 things are now very much entrenched in our online activity.
Why should you decide to go with a wireless internet service providers and why is it much better than staying with the older, cabled method of gaining access to the web? Well, the obvious downside to having a wired connection is that the location of the internet in your home is very static and fixed. This might not be so bad if you only use the internet in small doses and anything that you do on it is usually done in the one location – your desk – however even then the benefits for switching to wireless are apparent. For instance, if you happen to be ill and are struggling to get out of bed never mind go around the house then, with a wireless internet connection, you can access your emails etc… from your room.
In addition to this; with a wireless connection you can connect many devices to the internet in one go and this is without the costly charge of having internet points set up all around the home. Instead of having a point for the PC, one for a gaming console and maybe one for another laptop in the house as well, with a wireless connection you can connect them all seamlessly to one router and without any fuss or effort.

Adobe showed off their new suit of applications this week infront of an audience at their offices in San Francisco – reviewers say the apps are unlike anything that Adobe has ever done before. Adobe presented six different apps, all of which are designed with a touch interface, and will only be capable of running on tablets that use Google’s Android operating system, at least to start. These applications, which are said to include the first touch version of Photoshop, are bundled together in what Adobe is calling the “Creative Cloud,” which is a services that blends together work across a range of devices. Adobe is trying to move customers away from a one-time purchase decision with its leading Creative Suite in hopes of introducing monthly subscriptions, which are expected to be introduced in April. Adobe recently made the decision to stop the development of its mobile device Flash Player, and are moving towards the implementation of HTML5. Analysts and academics agree that Adobe’s move this year shows their aggressive preparations in making itself a solid contender in the mobile, cloud-centered market of the future.
Adobe estimates that by the year 2015, half of its total revenue will come from subscriptions, representing approximately 800,000 users. The company hopes to eventually see that figure raise to 100 percent. They’re also expanding their digital marketing horizons, helping companies build and manage their campaigns, by introducing a series of enhancements to its product lineup.
These days it seems that every smart phone and gaming console user is looking for jailbreaks that will allow them to modify their electronics. Most manufacturers do not look kindly upon those that use jailbreaks, but for the most part the only consequence is having your warranty rendered invalid. For George ‘Geohot’ Hotz, he found that a retraining order could be issued against him. His side of the story is that he was only looking to give mobile users a way to access their consoles while away, but Sony believes that he actually support piracy.
Gaming console developers know that some consumers will do just about anything to get a deal on a game. While some purchased used video games or share theirs with friends, others will purchase copies of games that they know were illegally copied. Jailbreaking a gaming console is not illegal, but authoring the software is sometimes seen as a violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Hotz has hired his own attorneys to help him battle in the courtroom with Sony, but he may still end up paying some hefty fines. While Sony and Hotz will duke it out in the courtroom on February 1st, no Playstation 3 owners will be able to download Hotz’s jailbreak software. Both sides have convincing arguments, but it will be up to the judges in San Mateo County to decide. For what it’s worth, ‘Geohot’ hasn’t made any money off of his jailbreak software but Sony is convinced that he has ...

While it is certain that the iPhone is one of the most popular electronics in recent history, a new study reveals that this love affair is bordering on obsession. After a group of over 25,000 people were asked about which brands, companies and agencies they desired the most, the vast majority favored Apple products above all others. This finding is quite interesting because the subjects polled were located in China, Singapore, the UK and the US among other countries. This means that Apple products were highly desirable across vastly differing cultures. Included on the list of choices were the Red Cross, BMW, Google and Ikea.
It may not be fair to suggest that those polled are actually more concerned about their own selfish desires than they are concerned with world peace, pollution and renewable energy, but it sure seems that way. Overall, most of the study subjects gave answers that indicated that they cared more about buying luxury items that made life convenient than anything else. This should say a lot about how people think and view the rest of the world, but it does show that Apple won’t be going anywhere soon. Google was probably upset when they saw that they only ranked number two on the list, but the animal kingdom should be outraged because the World Wildlife Fund only came in at number four. There is still hope for these gadget lovers that care more about their own desires than they do about the rest of the ...

Some users are able to get a deal if they also own a PC, but purchasing a separate plan is sometimes necessary. The FCC is devising a plan that would help nine different major companies get the licensing that they need to offer consumers free Internet access. Companies such as McDonald’s and Starbucks already afford paying customers to opportunity to use their Internet access for free, but this doesn’t help them if they want to surf the web at home.
LightSquared has been given the green light on this project by the FCC, and they will likely be the service providers for companies such as Apple major television stations. The project will take more than five years to be developed partially because the number of Internet users is expected to increase substantially. Although it is not known exactly how each individual company will offer their free WiFi connections, many in the industry have speculated that the will bundle it with other services. For instance, Apple product owners frequently upgrade their devices as soon as an upgrade is made available. If Apple offers a free WiFi connection it will probably be included in the purchase price. Companies such as Best Buy will probably take a different approach, but Internet service providers will need to come up with their own strategies if they want ...

Google, Inc. the search engine giant and ever expanding empire of web based services has announced that it recently purchased a start up social network site called Angstro, a small site that builds apps for the exchanging of info across social services by pulling in data from social networking niche sites like LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook. Experts see this as Google’s attempt to expand into the social networking market which it has, in the past, struggled to achieve in success in. One of the founders of Angstro, Rohit Khare, posted to his blog recently that he had been hired by Google to work on a social networking related project, but sources were unable to confirm which project that is since Khare declined to comment on its specific nature. Khare has long hoped to have open social networking across multiple sites so experts in the industry believe that he may have been brought on board Google to help create software or services that would head in that direction and, if the results desired become achieved, open up that market for users who would otherwise need to maintain multiple presences across multiple sites.
Those close to Google have observed that the company has spent the summer of 2010 building up a portfolio of engineers and software designers in the social networking market who are specialist in that kind of tech. Further investing in Jambool which builds apps and virtual goods, along with online game maker Zynga, shows that Google may have big plans ...

In the world of patent law, suing is a common way of handling disputes, but things do not normally reach this level. Paul Allen, the billionaire tech mogul who was part of the founding of Microsoft, Inc. with Bill Gates has now sued both Apple, Inc. and Google, Inc. along with nine other companies. Allen’s suit states that the companies are making use of technology developed around 10 years ago at his lab in the Silicon Valley area of California. While Allen did not develop the tech advances himself, he does hold claim to the patents and is now taking the companies to task in aggressive fashion, among them some of the most well known names in the tech industry because he claims they are using patented technology from his lab, Interval Research Corp. While litigation over patent disputes is presently on the rise, both the United States Congress and courts are attempting to keep it under control in an effort to avoid a similar situation seen in the early 1900′s during the time of Thomas Edison and other star inventors who viciously defended their patents and tied up courts.
Aside from names like Apple and Google, Allen is also pursuing eBay, Netflix, AOL and Facebook. Four patents are among the key parts of the suit and are said to be primary components of the companies named in the lawsuit which does not set a dollar amount on the damages. If successful, this legal action could seriously shake up the tech ...

Digital cameras and camcorders have been growing in popularity with consumers as they branch out from the domain of hi tech enthusiasts and into the hands of average, every day people. These cameras are quickly replacing their analog counter parts for a variety of reasons including speed of image processing, greatly reduced price of developing photos and convenience for amateur and pro photographers alike. The reason spate of digital cameras to hit the market have all essentially imitated early successful models, but now there is a new camera on the block which digital photography experts believe could be a game changer: the Panasoic Lumix DMC-G10. This particular model is due to be out shortly and will offer something that very few digital cameras on the market now offer, high quality low light photo shooting capabilities in a small package. Digital cameras are typically smaller than their analog cousins, a major advantage for photographers, but the Micro Four Thirds series from Panasonic have been especially noted for their high power and small size by pro photography reviewers. While a single lens reflex camera may take up a lot of space, the Panasonic Lumix is meant to be space efficient.
Instead of a digital SLR that can be difficult for the new photographer to manage, Panasonic set out to create something of a hybrid that would bridge the gap between the complex high end models and pocket sized point and shoot cameras. Competitor Olympus has also released a similar style of camera that ...

Competitor Olympus has also released a similar style of camera that experts believe could signal a growing movement among manufacturers to create a niche within the digital camera market that has been previously non existent.
